Meet Kat

UX/UI designer, creative problem-solver, and '90s film enthusiast.

Hey there!

I’m Katherine Abela, a UX/UI designer and full-stack developer who loves building digital experiences that feel as good as they look. My work spans product design, creative storytelling, and end-to-end development.

I studied Communication Design at Monash University and later pursued Web Design & UX at Weber State University. Along the way, I explored motion design, branding, front-end development and back-end development, gaining a broad creative toolkit.

My creative toolkit is powered by the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite, but Illustrator and After Effects are where I thrive when it comes to brand storytelling and motion design. On the technical side, I bring a developer’s mindset: fluent in HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, Python, and SQL. With a degree concentration in Full Stack Development, I bridge the gap between design and engineering—prototyping ideas and then building them into scalable products.

Beyond design and code, I’m a cheer coach, content creator, and mentor. I love inspiring others, experimenting with new creative outlets, and bringing energy to every team I work with. Whether I’m coaching athletes or collaborating with developers, I’m passionate about helping people grow and succeed.
